Musset didn't write the way he did because he drank absinthe, instead he drank for the same reason for which he wrote just like that: namely out of despair.

Fete de l'Absinthe - Boveresse, Switzerland

Each summer, in June, the otherwise sleepy town of Boveresse, Val de Travers, Switzerland comes to life. The entire valley awakens and absintheurs from around the world gather to take part of the festivities. A small town-fair where distillers move into the street and offer tastings and sell their absinthe, ending in a tent-party which too often plays 80's hit songs...

Fete de l'Absinthe, 2006

Every year, in June, the small village of Boveresse, Switzerland wakes up from its year-long slumber and shows its colors for a day. For one day the main street is filled with stalls where merchandise, absinthe related as well as anything else, is sold and where distillers of Val de Travers are showing off their products and offer tastings. This is the Fête de l'Absinthe in Boveresse. Simply put - the absinthe festival. Most links in the text will pop-up photos from the trip and some will lead you to reviews of absinthes here on the site.
